Disable Windows Components Wizard from Add/Remove Programs

This setting lets you to disable Windows Components Wizard from Add/Remove Programs.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000
You can disable or remove Windows Components Wizard items from Add/Remove Programs.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\Uninstall” is not present, create it as explained below. Then, create a Dword value “NoWindowsSetupPage” in the right panel.

Now, right-click and modify its value to “1” which can disable the option in the wizard. However, if you want to enable the option back, change the value data to “0” or delete the added value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

The ".reg" file can disable Windows Components Wizard from the Add/Remove Programs.

The ".reg" file can enable Windows Components Wizard in the Add/Remove Programs.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

The option "Add/Remove Windows Components" is not visible in the Add or Remove Programs.

The option "Add/Remove Windows Components" is visible in the Add or Remove Programs.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Uninstall\] key, right-click on the blank area in the right pane and click on "New > DWORD Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "NoWindowsSetupPage".

Third, right-click on the 'NoWindowsSetupPage' DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Disable access to the “Users” system icon (For Current User in Win 98/Me).

Prevent changes to virtual memory settings (For Current User).
