Hide remote administration page in control panel (password) (for current user)

This tweak stops users from being able to access the remote administration page.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me
Control Panel stores various applets that are used at different stages in the system operations. Therefore, the users are not permitted to change any settings there. This tweak can hide Remote Administration Page, when you click on the password system icon in the control panel.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Create a DWORD value name “NoAdminPage” in the right panel, if it does not exist. Right-click it and modify the data value with “1” to enable the setting and “0” to disable it.

Click “OK” and close the registry editor.

Restart the system or logoff to see the changes taking effect.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

'Remote Administration Page' is hidden from the 'Password Properties Box'.

'Remote Administration Page' is visible by default in the 'Password Properties Box'.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\] and create a new key as "System".

Create a new 'DWORD value' as " NoAdminPage ".

Right Click on "NoAdminPage" and select 'Modify'.

Finally, set the value data as "1" and click 'OK'.

Disable access to the “Users” system icon (For Current User in Win 98/Me).

Disable the ability to change password (For Current User).

Disable the ability to change password (For All Users).

You can customize the display of the Control Panel applets. With this setting you can disable the ability to change password using “Passwords” system icon in the current applets group.

Prevent changes to virtual memory settings (For Current User).

Category : Display > Control Panel

With this setting you can prevent changes to the default virtual memory settings using the “Display” system icon in Control Panel.
