Prohibit access to “Taskbar and Start Menu” dialog (Current User).

This setting hides “Taskbar and Start Menu” item in the Start menu as well as turns off its functionality.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista
This setting removes the “Taskbar and Start Menu” item from the Settings menu in Start menu. Similarly, right-click on taskbar and the click on the properties display a message, which informs you that the setting does not permit you to open the “Taskbar and Start Menu Properties” dialog box. Finally, “The Taskbar and Start Menu” icon of the Control Panel is also hidden with this setting.

For this, go to Start > Run, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “NoSetTaskbar”, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify the value to “1” which can prohibit access to “Taskbar and Start Menu” dialog. However, if you want to enable the item again, change the value data to “0” or delete the value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.
