Show special icons for “.ICL” files.

Windows show normally “.ICL” files with the default generic icon, but you can specify that Windows should use the icons inside each file.

Tweak for : Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista
Windows show normally “.ICL” files with the default generic icon, but you can specify that Windows should use the icons inside each file.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the data of “Default” String value to “%1” which can show special icons for “.ICL” files. However, if you want to revert to default icons look, delete the value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

NOTE:
This setting can reduce the performance of your system and if a file has no icon in itself, Windows will display the file with the generic icon.

Display special icon for ICL files.reg

The ".reg" file can show special icons of ".ICL" files.

Display default icon for ICL files (Default).reg

The ".reg" file will show generic icons of ".ICL" files.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Special icons are displayed for ".ICL" extension files.

Default icons for ".ICL" files.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\iclfile\DefaultIcon\],right-click on "(Default)" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "%1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Hide the “Accessibility Options” system icon in Control Panel (For Windows 98/Me).
