Make the background window active.

Whenever a new program is activated from another program in Windows, the new program stays in the background. It flashes on the taskbar for a while and then remains inactive at the moment. But to make the program active and show on foreground, use this setting.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows Vista
Whenever a new program is activated from another program in Windows, the new program stays behind all other open windows. It flashes on the taskbar for the given number of times, as set in the registry, and then remains inactive at the moment. The time for which the new program should not be active is also controlled by a registry setting. When the time elapses it automatically shows on foreground of the screen. To delete the waiting time, make changes to the registry.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the dword value “ForegroundLockTimeout”, in the right panel, to “0” which can delete the waiting time. However, if you want to set the options to default, change the value data to “30d40” (base hexadecimal).

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\], in the open area right-click on "ForegroundLockTimeout" and click on 'Modify'.

Finally, enter the value "0" in the text box and click 'OK'.
