Shortcuts to run Quick Launch items.

This tweak can help you call the programs in your Quick Launch bar by pressing simple key combinations.

If you are a keyboard junkie and would like to execute the commonly used programs using keyboard, Microsoft has come up with a new feature for you. Simply add shortcuts of the commonly used programs in the Quick Launch bar and with a couple of key combinations open the necessary program.

You can open any program from the Quick Launch bar by holding down the Windows logo key and pressing the ordinal number (the number that corresponds to its position in the list) of the program in the Quick Launch bar. So, Windows Logo + 1 may show Desktop, Windows Logo + 2 may call Internet Explorer or any other program depending upon the per-user positioning of programs.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Show only taskbar icon of minimized applications.

By using this tweak you are able to reduce the size each button needs inside the taskbar.

Hide notification area items (For Current User).

Category : Display > Taskbar

This setting lets you to disable the display of items in the notification area.

Disable context menu display on the Taskbar.

Category : Display > Taskbar

This setting disables the context menu from appearing on right-clicking on Start button or Navigation Area generally called System Tray.

Disable animation while resizing the window.

Category : Display > Taskbar

The user can specify if Windows should animate a window while minimizing, maximizing, and restoring the size of the window.

Restore “Show Desktop” icon in the Quick Launch Bar.

Category : Display > Taskbar

If you have some windows open on your desktop, you can minimize all those windows with the “Show Desktop” button. If this button is not present in the Quick Launch Bar, you can create it using this setting.
