Disable locking your computer.

This setting can disable the "Lock Computer" button when you press down CTRL+ALT+DELETE key combination.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000
Windows displays the Windows Security dialog box when CTRL+ALT+DELETE key combination is pressed. Upon pressing the “Lock Computer” button your system locks down, preventing everyone except you or a system administrator from unlocking your system and viewing any open files or programs.

To avoid users from activating this command, you can deactivate the button using this registry setting.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. You can create a DWORD value “DisableLockWorkstation” in the right panel, if this value does not exist.

Now, right-click and modify its value to “1” which can disable computer locking. However, if you want to show the enable the button, change the value data to “0” or delete the added value name.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Disable the Lock Workstation Button.reg

The ".reg" file can disable the "Lock Computer" button.

Enable the Lock Workstation Button (default).reg

The ".reg" file can enable the "Lock Computer" button.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

The "Lock Computer" option is disabled.

The "Lock Computer" option is enabled.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\] key, right-click on the blank area in the right pane and click on "New > DWORD Value" to create a new DWORD value with the name "DisableLockWorkstation".

Third, right-click on the 'DisableLockWorkstation' DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Disable registry editors.
