Control hiding anchor window in Media Player

This setting hides the anchor window which is normally shown when using Windows Media Player in compact or skin mode.

Tweak for : Windows XP, Windows 2003
When you switch Windows Media Player to compact or skin mode, it will normally display an Anchor window that can be used to go back to the full display easily. As soon as you close this window, it is hidden and it has to be restarted for the change to take effect. It requires Windows Media Player 8.0 or higher. This setting also restricts the users from re-enabling the window.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. If the subkey “\Preferences” is not present, create it as explained below. Now, create DWORD value name “DoNotShowAnchor”, if this value does not exist. Right-click it and modify with the data value “1” to hide and “0” to display it.

Click OK to close the registry.
