Enable script commands of Windows Media Player.

This setting enables you to determine whether Windows Media Player is going to use embedded script commands.

Script commands allow URL and FILENAME to run when you play digital media content that contains them. Script commands can contain instructions that enhance the playback experience. For example, a script command may open your Internet browser and display a related Web page while the Player plays back content. To enable scripts commands on windows Media Player, use this registry setting.

For this, go to Start > Run menu, enter “regedit” and navigate to the registry path listed below. Now, right-click and modify the DWORD value “PlayerScriptCommandsEnabled” to “1” which can enable script commands.

However, if you want to disable the script commands, change the value data to “0” or delete the “PlayerScriptCommandsEnabled” value.

The changes take effect after a restart or logoff.

Enable Script Commands of Windows Media Player.reg

The '.reg' file will enable Script Commands of Windows Media Player.

Disable Script Commands of Windows Media Player (Default).reg

The '.reg' file will disable Script Commands of Windows Media Player.

Apply registry settings according below given steps of screenshots with related changes.

Script Commands of Windows Media Player are enabled.

Script Commands of Windows Media Player are disabled by default.

First, click the 'Start' button, and select 'Run'. In the resulting dialog box, type "regedit".

Second, go to the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\] key, right-click on the "PlayerScriptCommandsEnabled" DWORD value and click on "Modify".

Finally, enter the value "1" in the text box and click on 'OK'.

Disable automatic updates for Windows Media Player.
